Driving clarity and alignment

My career has spanned the arc of senior communications: agency work at Weber Shandwick supporting the U.S. Army’s “Army Strong” recruiting campaign, and state government as a communications director in Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s Administration.

I went on to spend nearly a decade as Vice President of Communications at BAE Systems, and most recently more than eight years as Chief Communications Officer at ASRC Federal, where I led corporate communications and public affairs for an 8,000-employee federal services prime.

I founded Deer Point Communications to bring that experience to organizations that need senior counsel. The firm provides fractional, interim, and advisory communications leadership for GovCon, cyber, and private equity organizations navigating growth, transition, reputation, or market-positioning opportunities and challenges. My role is to partner with leaders and bring perspective, judgment, decisive action, and calm under pressure.

My approach is grounded in seeing the full picture before defining position or recommending action. The Vantage Point Process™ establishes the high ground before action, then drives clarity through positioning, execution, and observation. The result is communication that moves the business forward.

Where engagements allow, I use AI-enabled workflows to accelerate research, analysis, and content development. Strategy, judgment, and client relationships remain personal.

Deer Point Communications is a veteran-owned small business with active UEI and CAGE registration, VetCert in process, and an active Top Secret clearance — credentials that enable direct support inside federal and defense environments and reflect practical experience navigating the systems my clients operate within.

My education includes an executive program at Wharton and a master’s from Purdue University. I am a member of the Arthur W. Page Society and a two-time PRSA Silver Anvil winner.
